Space Trek

Professional Learning

Space Trek is a trusted partner in STEM Education anchored in creating out-of-this-world experiences for students and educators alike. Our Professional Learning (PL) programs provide teachers with the tools to deliver high-impact, hands-on instruction to facilitate transformative learning that results in the academic achievement of students. Our outstanding instructors and engineers facilitate professional learning opportunities for educators of all grade levels both in-house and at your selected location. Workshops focus upon the use of our product line, such as rocketry, high-altitude ballooning, robotics, but also upon the specific goals for your district, school or classroom, such as Computer Science.

Collaboration is Key

…and our experts are here to help. Whether it be an innovative grant application or the addition of new robotics or rocketry tools to your district or school, the Space Trek team is here to provide competitive advantage to your work.

As experts in space science education and aerospace engineering, we can also develop professional learning focused upon your district or school’s needs and priorities. Need help with teaching a space science standard?  We design PL that is practical, providing teachers with classroom-ready skills and tools aligned to the best and innovative pedagogical practices, such as the 5E model, storylines and the SEPs.

Computer Science PD (Florida State Grant Support)

We support schools implementing computer science initiatives under Florida grant programs by providing training that is classroom-practical and aligned to instructional goals. Teachers leave with clear delivery strategies, ready-to-use activities, and a plan to confidently run lessons—not just understand concepts. We offer programs around our Arduino based MakerBox or the ExoNaut Robotics platform.

Rocketry Curriculum

Turn the science and  engineering practices into a core classroom experience. We help schools build or expand rocketry programs using structured design-test-iterate workflows. Teachers learn how to guide students through payload thinking, launch preparation, safety processes, and mission-style challenges—while keeping instruction scalable.

High-Altitude Ballooning Curriculum Development

Bring near-space science to your school with a curriculum built around sensors, telemetry, payload integration, and atmospheric investigations. Using the same mission roles and systems-thinking approach as our Near Space Investigation program—payload integration, meteorology, data collection, and analysis—educators learn how to deliver a true “flight-to-data” learning arc.

Custom PL Built Around Your Goals

Have a STEM priority that doesn’t fit into a box? We also design PL that fits your academic  focus —curriculum enhancement, interdisciplinary STEM learning, the science and engineering design practices, capstone projects, maker-spaces, or competition training.

Your place or ours?

The Space Trek Learning Laboratory is located upon the campus of Kennedy Space Center and can host educator and student groups of up to 60 individuals. Educators receive free admission to Kennedy Space Center and workshops can be tailored to the needs of schools, districts and of course fun in the park! Alternatively we can provide single or multiple-day workshops at your select location for an additional fee.
