Group Camps
SpaceTrek offers immersive group camps from 2 to 5 days, designed for students who want real hands-on STEM experiences. We deliver mission-driven STEM programs where students build, test, launch, and analyze—all inside the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex learning environment.
- Mission Robotics
- Rocketry
- Near Space Investigation
Camp Details & Information
SpaceTrek’s group camps are built around three signature programs:
Mission Robotics (2–3 Days)
Students learn programming logic and apply it immediately through progressive challenges and competitions—driving robots through linear/curvilinear motion, sensor-based tasks, and mission scenarios inspired by real planetary exploration.
Rocketry (2–3 Days)
Students learn the fundamentals of rocket physics, stability, and launch operations—then build and launch their own rockets as a team. The camp emphasizes safety, checklists, iteration, and performance analysis after launch.
Near Space Investigation (4 Days)
A true “flight ops” experience. Students form a mission team (payload, flight computer, meteorology, safety, flight director) to integrate a payload and launch/retrieve a high-altitude balloon, then analyze telemetry and atmospheric data.
Program Benefits
Systems Engineering (end-to-end)
Students learn to break big problems into subsystems, test iteratively, and integrate hardware + software.
Real-world technical skills
Exposure to coding, sensors, electronics, mechanical design, data logging, and troubleshooting—skills used in robotics, aerospace, and IoT.
Scientific method & data literacy
Form hypotheses, run controlled tests, collect measurements, and interpret results—core STEM and research habits.
Team collaboration & leadership
Practice role-based teamwork (builder, programmer, analyst, mission lead), communication, and decision-making under deadlines.
Career Exposure
Students finish with tangible artifacts: robot behaviors, launch results, experiment datasets — great for applications.
Engineering confidence & resilience
Failure becomes feedback: students learn debugging, root-cause analysis, and how to improve designs through iteration.
Inclusions
Mission instruction, materials, and guided build time
Team-based challenges, evaluations, and graduation recognition
