Kutztown Summer Film Camp

Film is indisputably the strongest medium of mass communication. With World Wide Web coming into the picture quite literally, an explosion in the publishing platforms has given rise to an entire different generation of artists. The combination of traditional cinema and internet has given rise to numerous possibilities for filmmakers. If you have been inspired by any of your favourite works or artists, this course is for you.

Summer Film Institute (SFI) has curated Digital Filmmaking program for high school students from India. It’s an exclusive program for Indian students to help them gain hands-on experience with professional equipment and techniques to realize their filmmaking aspirations. Thanks to well trained and experienced faculty, the camp by Kutztown University (KU) of Pennsylvania’s Department of Cinema, Television, and Media in cooperation with the Office of International Admissions and Services has a reputation for training students for media related internships and careers.

Conveniently located 2 hours from New York City and 1.5 hours from Philadelphia, KU is one of 14 institutions in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE). Program quality has been recognized by awards from U.S. organizations including the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the National Broadcasting Society and the Intercollegiate Broadcasting Society.

The SFI Camp Director and KU Professor, Jennifer Suwak, has worked in the film/video field since 1990. Her sculptures, animation, and documentary films have been shown in galleries and in film festivals internationally.
